We the Veterans and Military Families proudly hosted our second annual Flag Day Convening on June 12–13, 2025, once again at the historic and scenic Mt. Vernon. Building on the foundation we laid last year by elevating veterans and military family members as leaders of continued service, we featured dynamic panels focusing on our Vet Public Service and Vet the News programs, showcasing inspiring stories of VMF who are answering the call to serve again. We also previewed the forthcoming Veterans Civic Health Index, to be published in Fall 2025, which will further inform and empower positive patriotism across our community.
This year’s gathering also honored the 250th anniversary of the United States Army, including an evening Army Birthday Celebration featuring distinguished speakers General George Casey, USA, Retired, Christine Dorfler, Carly Fiorina, and comedian Thom Tran. The event highlighted our Military250 campaign, as we brought together the VMF community to fortify our commitment to continued service and to model how all of America can give back as part of America 250 and the upcoming America Gives campaign.
